Off to the woodlands..

For my daughters 3rd birthday party I wanted to have it at my most favourite park (and the one we got married in) Wirreanda Park Buderim.. It is full of big beautiful trees, completely shaded and with a playgroup.. Win win!!.. And I thought the perfect theme would be 'Off to the Woodlands'..

All the invitations and party signs were done with these gorgeous little woodland theme characters..

The tables were decorated with red/brown/white bunting, the number three painted in red, felt handmade toadstools and red heart balloons..
There was also red and white polka dot balls hanging from the trees..

The food and drink tables were filled with treats which carried on the Woodland theme..  There were Tinkle tea, Fresh forest water, Toadstools (cupcakes), Woodchips (chips in bags), Pollen drops (mini meringues), Woodland Berry Jelly, Squirrel mix (pretzels and rice crackers), Fruity wands, Chocolate acorns (biscuits), Dew Drops (coconut caramels) and Forest berries (strawberry n creams)..  They were all placed on little wood blocks with added extra character to the table..

The cake was a toadstool, set in the woods with woodland creatures.. I actually made the cake from a large cupcake tin, but put the base up side down - it worked a treat!! It was a chocolate cake and the kids loved eating the flake pieces..

We had a craft corner set up where each child could make there own woodland mask..

We played parcel the parcel and we bought some potato sacks from our local fruit n veg shop to play potato sack races.. The kids went with the dads first round.. Then the adults had a go (including the mums)!
It was a lot of fun had by all :)

Each child went home with a goody bag 'wooden crate' filled with lollies and a knots and crosses game..

I think this precious little girl had a great day!!
