Giddy up horsey...

When my good friend Natalie approached me about donating an item for her fundraising auction, I couldn't go past this unique wooden rocking horse.  Every child needs a rocking horse (and some adults just love them too!)... I found this little beauty in a brissy market - fought tooth and nail with other keen buyers for it - but walked away successfully... As this is a donated item, I thought you might like to see the before pictures as well as the after pictures... So here they are...

It was so nice to see this rocking horse go to a wonderful family and I am sure their gorgeous grandchildren will enjoy it for many years ahead...

A dream come true...

A family trip away recently to a quaint little place called Bangalow (near Byron Bay) ended with one of my life long dreams coming true.  While walking down the sweet little streets with our tummies full of delicious french toast, bananas and fresh raspberries - we stumbled upon this authentic tin shed called 'Heath's Oldwares'.  As both our hearts skipped a beat (this is a great hobby of ours) we enter into his large range of collectables in awe of what stood before us.  And nestled in the back was this little gem...

I had a cane pram similar to this as a child, but with two sisters to share with, I always dreamed of having one of my own and passing it down to my precious daughter one day.  I have never seen one quite like this and I am sorry to say that this piece is not for sale... but I thought you would like to admire it as much as I do...  Each day as I walk past me daughters room and see this delectable pram, a smile appears across my face... Its a dream come true... Enjoy...

Rock-a-bye-baby...

Here is another Jodé Designs creation...

As I restored this sweet wooden rocking cradle the song 'rock-a-bye-baby'

 played in my mind continually and I could picture my beautiful friend Elle rocking her soon-to-be little baby boy in it... Yes, unfortunatley this beautiful piece of furniture has already sold but I couldn't let it move on until I gave you all a little glimpse... It is just so precious... I was very tempted to keep it myself... Luckly for Elle I am not in the 'another baby' mind frame just yet... Enjoy...

Found a home...

Just thought you would like to know that the Jodé Designs 'A little treasure' bird cage and 'Goldilocks and the three bears' toddler bed have found new homes... As sad as it was to say goodbye to these delightful pieces, I am over-joyed that they will continue to have a colourful life and be loved beyond words...  Thank you so much for your positive feedback for these particular pieces... Your heartfelt words have continued to give me inspiration for more Jodé Design pieces...

Oh how they grow...

As I was painting today, my thoughts got the better of me and I came to the (sad) realization that my little one is no longer a baby, but instead (very much) a toddler.  Then it got me thinking 'Where did the time go?' Everyone tells you it goes fast - you honestly don't believe them - but 'gosh darn it' they are right.  So to reminise I decided to compile a few pictures of my gorgeous little girl, from each month, then scroll down and let her growth unfold before my eyes...

A Baby Shower...

This may not be a furniture project but it is one of my favourite things to do! My beautiful english friend Elle is having her first baby and with family so far away I decided to throw her a baby shower... She is a brillant shool teacher so I decided to bring the 'Back to School' theme into the mix... The weather was very good to us and the day was unbelievable... Please enjoy!
